I agree but St Anton does have its fair share of American guests ............

Their nearest northern neighbours went metric years ago though!

Samerberg Sue, aye, but the app is from the official Tourist office in St Anton, whose forecast is always in celcius - the mind boggles. The thing is, I'll never use it when there anyway - too busy enjoying myself

Samerberg Sue, Hey y'all maybe there'll be 40" snow rather than 110cm and 350 acres of back-bowls rather than 120 km of pistes next time we look at the Arlberg websites..................and WHATS a carbon footprint?? Back-east we're still driving our 5 litre Chevvys to the GON-DOW-LERZ!!

boabski, yep but most of the basics used for creating Apps come from across the Pond don't they! I'm employed to teach my colleagues Business English but have to do all my documentation in American (MS Office) English - drives me nuts!

When its safe and also when it gets more busy. Its not economic to have everything this early in the season.
Probably weekend 18th Dec when I think Rendl will open

Was by all accounts superb in Lech this weekend which is where I was meant to be. I got stiffed by Flybe on friday and they cancelled my flight due to 'operational reasons' so I lost my ongoing flight to Zurich and it was going to be million pounds to get another one so didn't bother. Had lots of lovely pics from my friends though, superb squeaky snow on piste and lots of fluff to play in around the sides - b@stards!

Oh No ! Madloch-->Zug is my favorite run. I'm out on the 12th for a week. The white ring is a one way system, I guess I'll have to get back from Zurs to Lech by bus.
Have they had rain in Lech today ?

Arlberg Forecast;
A cold front approaching from north-west will mark the end of this current period of mild weather on Wednesday night. A strong north-westerly weather current will bring a long-term period of wintry weather conditions. Clouds will accumulate around the mountains and result in snow showers. Due to a warm front they may even intensify on Saturday. From Sunday on, colder dryer air will infiltrate from the north. So thaw is not expected!

I fancied doing the Weisse Rausch this season. Not gonna happen now tho, currently on crutches with a broken right ankle, will be at least Feb before I can get back on a board and with me being a goofy rider, when I do get back on I think I'm gonna have to start riding regular so as not to put too much stress on the bad ankle. Still, one of my aims from this season was to be able to get down a black riding switch so looks like I should manage it once I get back out!

stanton, interesting pics, is that wind damage or fohn damage that has stripped the snow in certain places??

kitenski, certainly in Ischgl the weekend warm up did a lot of damage to lower and south facing slopes though the pistes were in very good shape. Current snow doing a lot to repair damage, though a lot of today's snow was so light and the wind so strong it was getting swept all over the place. Hope the next couple of days should put things in the Arlberg back on track!
