Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

nixmap, FYI I started this thread as I though SH's could genuinely benefit from fellow Very Happy s sharing their bargains - which a lot of people now have (albeit have now spent a few hundres £ in the process Laughing ). The vast majority people posting on this thread have posts exceeding 1000, which would indicate they're not spammers

Its nothing personal, I reckon most people are smart enough to choose to ignore a thread if its just full of spam, and the level of interest on a thread justifies its own existence.

Apparently though there are some rules, its just difficult to determine if they are anything else but arbitrary.

Your comment about the number of posts may have something to do with it, in that some posters are more privliedged than others but Im not sure that sends out the right message.

Of course they are, but it's time to get over it now.

I've normally had a bit of sympathy for your position, whilst disagreeing with some of it. But to keep sniping about how unequal it all is getting a tad dull.

You're a bigger man, turn the other cheek, old boy. And if you can't, just gloat, as, apart from the hired help, you don't strike me as the kind of chap who needs to score a bargain.

p.s. If you're trolling, keep up the good work. wink

Its not the inequality or non-commercialism, itself that incites me.
Its the sanctimonious pretence of either that really gets on my wick.

Ski Tyke, you haven't seen the rest of my kit. Even a little bit of glitter would push me into the "overkill" department. That being said, I'll almost certainly give them a go....

Dr John, damn - you've just reminded I was meant to do something about my Yodai goggles (gegs??) for the next season. My lenses have got a crack in them & they're fogging up. I think I'm a bit rough when I'm swopping the lenses round....

cathy, I didn't realise the lenses swapped, nice. I initially though the Yodai might be a little large for the ladies. From your post I presume they fit OK?

Dr John, yes, the lenses pop out very easily - I have flat light ones and bright light ones but I think they cost about £35 replacement. S&R sell just the lenses.

They might look a bit large but I think that's because they extend round to cover peripheral vision, they do actually fit smaller heads as most goggles are too big for me.

Hells Bells, measured my oldest, with a pair of my ski poles upside down and her arm at right angles she measures 93cm to the top of her hand, so does that mean I need 95cm for her?

Youngest measures 78cm to the top of her hand.

ebay, still the best place to pick up a bargain, but you have to be patient as some things go for more than they retail at. Have just bought 179 k2 seths £150 with bindings. Seller used them for a week and said they were too much a ski for them. They are in very good condition. also special blend utility p3 15k w/proof 15k breathable jacket used for one week for £22. rrp £240. looks , smells etc unworn. also foursquare trousers $10. used for a week again look unworn, no marks etc. shipping from the us was $15.and burton ak camo trsrs from germany off ebay inc postage £21.
I really cant understand the new kit every season thing or more over "not the in colour or last year graphics thing". But Im glad there are those that are into that......
whats the saying, "all the gear, no idea "................ just ski.

I have just recd. A Salomon Adrenaline 3:1 Jacket from Two Seasons website. It is last years stock and I paid £168. They have size small and xlarge available. It is a nice brown colour with blue zip & detail. I am very happy with the jacket and the service was spot on. I chose economy delivery and it still arrived next day. Bargain in my opinion.

Prompted by the latest round of helmet threadery, I just ordered a replacement for my G10, here:

Not exactly bargain of the century but you don't often see G10s at below rrp.

Um dare I ask about the commercial nature of some of these posts.
After a cursory look, it appears to me, no-one who has posted anything above stands to gain commercially from doing so.
Sharing advice in this way is obviously an ideal use of the forum.

Clearly, this topic is not a place for people/companies to publicise their own 'bargains' and if you notice anyone doing so, please notify one of the Piste Patrol immediately.
