Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

there are no busses, you have to make your own way there (unless i've missed something over the last 5 years) you could use the local transfer company which is. www.alpine-transfer-company.com he does day trips

and you get 1 day, not one day in each resort

Sorry, should have made it obvious that we will not have own transport as are on a cheapo TO trip with Neilson so nevermind but thanks anyway. It's a good thing I didn't mention this cunning plan of mine to them though. Laughing

The 'Alpine Transfers' day trip to Montgenevre reads well to me and I've never been there either. Smile

I take it you mean 1 day at each of the other resorts rather than having to make a choice between them ? I trust the buses too leave early enough to get to the other resorts for say 10.00 ? Smile

Cheers

Ross

There aren't any public buses between Serre Che and either Les Deux-Alpes or Alpe d'Huez. I think you can get a bus from Briancon to Montgenevre though, but I'm not sure how regularly they run. Neilson certainly ran a day trip when we went with them, but we didn't take advantage at the time, as there was plenty to keep us happy in Serre Chevalier.

Maybe they will but at the price we paid, they probably think most of the punters that week are illegal immigrants anyway and so won't be paying up front for speculative coach day trips just in case some of us abscond in Italy. I was doubtful that we were even going to get transfers from Turin but Neilson have confirmed.

I think it might be a case of "... there you go mate, Happy Christmas, here's your keys and see you in a week for the trip back to Manchester..." Laughing

I do like the look of some of the webcams though ... http://www.lecafesoleil.com/webcam/ Three weeks from now and we'll be seeing some of that with our own eyes. Very Happy

moffatross, we didn't pay much for that Easter trip either, £199 per adult, one child place for £69 and the second child for £99. We even got our apartment upgraded to a two bedroom duplex! (Les Alpages in Villeneuve). If they are running trips for all of their guests in resort, you can be assured you will be offered a ticket, that's how they make their money. They will only organise a coach trip of they have enough interest anyway.

Helen Beaumont, monty opens this week end so we will still get some turns in.

i think it just costs too much to extend contracts etc etc, still the 13th will be an awesome day.

i'm having to read all the english translations on ski maps etc cos they're terrible!

question for you. control of lift pass, includes random and....... roving (what they put) but i think it should say roaming, or am i just being pedantic?

Arriving in Monetier at approx 16.30.

We need to go and collect the tickets for ski school, organise ski hire and buy lift passes. A lot to do before everything shuts and to do on the first morning.

Can you please advice which is the best ski hire shop in Monetier.

Do you know what time the ski hire shops close and what time the ski pass office shuts?

Montgenevre is well worth a day away. I drove from Montgenevre to Briancon last time out there and it took about 25 mins. That was in March this year. Depends on the weather though as i could imagine the road would be pretty tricky in poor weather - it's switchbacks galore as you climb up to Montgenevre.

Some very very good skiing at Montgenevre though.

Christopher, where are you staying? Ski Quartz behind the Alpen Bar is fine, but there is now one in the new buildings at the bottom of the ski lifts which might be more convenient.

Lift pass office and esf office is at the foot of the slopes too.
