Yes, she is very pretty. I was sitting at a table oblivious when Mrs JB came back from the bar and started staring. Then she said (loudly) to me. "That woman looks like Fiona Bruce". I glanced and confirmed. Wanted to say hello, but then she would have thought I was some kind of ejit from the periphery of the UK.

Ray Zorro, As johnboy said that roof is actually a cover for some aircon units and is on the roof of the Front de Neige building. I may try a speculative landing there during my parapente lesson

Have just noticed that La Nouva is open on the Italian side - presumably by snow cannon. But at least even if there is no more snow between now and next Sunday (and the temps keep low) we will be able to ski down into La Thuile for that hot chocolate!
Of course, I remain hopeful that knee-deep powder will allow me to try the approach down La Tour as well

We'll be in La Thile from 18 Feb for week. Does anyone have a link for decent cams in La R? The only ones I have seen don't seem to work. Although staying in La Thuile I hope to check out La R quite a bit too.

That one works unlike the one I followed on a link previously from somewhere else (La Thuile webiste?). Not the most usefully placed webcam for a ski resort is it!
I'll keep reading ths thread hoping for encouraging news of fresh snowfall in the coming weeks.
Could do witha bit more cover in La Thuile from what I can make out. Looks good in La R according to the GB ski club website.
From what I have read in the past I thought that La T tended to have better snow conditions that La R but this doesn't seem to be borne out by current conditions from what I can see looking around various websites.

aidancostello, AFAIK The Snow is often deeper on the La Roas side, but frsher on the North facing La Thuile side. I thinkNick L, will be arriving after a week and a bit of heavy snow. Looking at the forecast my fear is that the col will be shut a fair bit due to bad weather when we are there.

Thanks Frosty - I hope the conditions will be good for both of us. Due to non aligned half-terms throughout the country looks like your half-term week will be before ours. I'll watch out for news of your trip if you manege to get anything online before we leave on 18 Feb!
