Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@sparkzter, and a lift straight in to Courcheval coming soon from Bozel?

They’ve been talking about that for years. Not seen anything new on it. Be great if they did, however I’ll believe it when I’m sitting on it!!

@sparkzter, that's almost exactly the reply I was going to write! I think the main issue is who would pay for it? Bozel is its own commune (I think) so I doubt they're going to get much of a contribution from Courchevel because it's not likely to increase Courchevel's tourism revenue very much.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The Bozel link is costing 25 million, assuming the 2030 winter olympics is confirmed (no one else wants it) the lift will be built on the back of that and Bozel will expand to provide accomodation for the games. Bozel has to pay 5 million, the rest coming from St Bon/Courchevel and the Regional budgets.

I'd forgotten about the Olympics bid. Do you have a link for this info or a map showing the proposed line of the lift? I'd be interested to know where it's planned to link into/terminate although I'm assuming if it's for athletes it must go into the Alpinium in Le Praz?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The olympic bid has been accepted with reservations.

@davidof, thanks. Yes, it does indeed look like it's finally happening.

Reading through the other articles on that site, it's currently planned to terminate next to the Tovets chairlift in C1550 above the Dou du Midi car park but that's had some criticism and it's assumed that additional income from the Olympics bid money will pay for a further extension either into the Croisette in C1850 or above it. Above it would make more sense to reduce crowding and also to allow the athletes to ski straight to the Courchevel Club des Sports building which I presume would be their on-hill base for the event.

@davidof, we spent a day in Bozel on our summer holiday in 2022, and I met a Scottish guy in a bar that skis down to Bozel every winter down that obvious route in your picture.

@Je suis un Skieur, yes it does look much more likely.

Bozel is not a cheap place to buy though.
