It's actually a kind of baked cheesecake filling and my favourite Austrian pud. So I will be having several portions which means, unless you want serious studel-envy, you'll remember cos I'm not sharing!!

Shouldn't it be "scrota"? Which naturally leads me on to wonder why no one has mentioned lederhosen...which I happen to like...most of the time...but I've never tried wearing them.

swimandski, in general they are non smoking, many having an umbrella bar or annex that is for smoking. That said, be prepared for the worst.

Thanks Frosty...I've got used to the no smoking policies in other resorts.The first non smoking resort we went to was Livigno 10 years ago,it was such a pleasent surprise! My wife had breast cancer a few years ago and won't set foot in a smoking bar/restaurant.

Smoking is the only one for me. We were in Ischgl last year and the bar in our hotel was a nightmare. I have noticed that things are slowly changing and most of the new hotels that are coming on stream seem to be going smoke free. I really hope this continues and they eventually get rid completely. Who'd have thought the French would ever outlaw it in bars and restaurants ? I certainly didn't.

Much worse where I was in Alagna (Italy). I was a few yards up the steep hill from the church so on the second floor I was exactly at bell level.
In general I quite like bells so long as they aren't every day and are further off.

a) Innsbruck
B) even worse, Salzburg
Compared to say business traffic driven volume into Geneva, Zurich, Lyons, Turin, Milan making cheeky weekenders much more feasible.

fatbob, Ryan Air go into Salzburg every day during the ski season. As do a lot of other providers from the UK.
