Is this a wind up? I've only looked at this as a newbe. But first should this be in the piste or the buy and sell thread? or chalet thread? and as for nixmap, pay the correct money and employ a local for your needs?

Normally, Id just ignore this, up but seeing as you are a newbie Ill explain.
Snowheads is a web site for people interested in snow and related activities.
You could post a thread here asking for someone to fix your plumbing... but without genuine interest I doubt that more tha a handful would read it.
In general, thats what makes Admin of a forum pretty easy, Its mostly self policing.
Threads that are off topic or just plain dull die quickly.
Offensive ones remain to be killed.
Lasts years thread ran into 5 pages, this one probably wont differ, its relevant, inoffensive, theres healthy debate and wide ranging opinions on the subject matter. Sounds like a 'model' forum thread to me.
You are entitled to vent your own opinion though, even if its misguided.
As a newbie however, you dont want to build a reputation for making ill thought out posts, otherwise less tolerant members will flame you till you burn in hell.
Believe me, Ive had personal experience.

This is an advertising thread for chalet staff during the winter, pure and simple, no matter how the chalet owner dresses it up.
You will notice that the thread was not on Natives, which is a recruitment website, for very long, however the Admin and owner of this site has chosen to let the thread run, I guess for it's comedy value.

Let's face it. A website needs participant in order to generate income. So it's always a balancing act whether to charge for advertising or allow some free ones to boost participation.
It's obvious nix has help a lot more in drawing in "traffic" than whatever admin could charge for a pure advert.

Im not exactly sure what Ive done to attract such venom from you (skid & slide), after all no one is forcing you to read the thread.
In any case Im grateful for you giving the thread a whole new boost of life, which on the face of it, is odd behaviour if you dont like it.
Still i guess everyone who is going to apply, has already done it, so go for your life.

nixmap, I am afraid fun is officially banned on snowHeads, it is a hard line but it must be adhered to at all times.
Maybe skid & slide could start again as long as he promises not to entertain others or provoke entertaining comments at any time.
