Hurtle, No, but he was buying a pass for 12 days, so I guess they are using the same daily rate, give or take, for a 12 day pass as for a 6 day pass.

johnnyboy, oh, sorry. But you said 6 days - and, since I have to buy a 6 day pass myself in a couple of weeks, the thought of paying £440 for it made me feel quite weak!

Can't be sure what's going on up there this season, but last year The Viking was definitely the place for some early beers; they used to do BOGOF between 4 and 7pm, so I'd check out what they're doing this year. The Viking is about 3 doors down from the Frog (last year their Happy Hour knocked a euro off a pint, so not quite so happy  ), but it's not that obvious; there's just a door opening right out onto the road with steps leading down to a basement.
Nice atmosphere there last season, showed plenty of footie and had free wifi too. |
Just back from VT and can confirm that the Viking is doing 2 for 1 on everything from 4 - 7 pm and beer is 5.5€ . The Frog is doing 2 for 1 on from 4 to 6pm and the The Irish Bar is doing lager for 4.50€ betwen 4 and 6pm. We prefered the music, and atmosphere in the Viking.
We had a terible meal in the resturant in the corner of the Sports Centre Complex. I'll look up the name for the next time I'm on here. One of our group thought it was the worst meal they had ever had in France, and he's been going there over 20 years!!
edit - Name of resturant with really poor food was Les 3 Pachas. HTH.

Should we send out a search party? Can any other snowheads check he is alright? With recent threads about people getting lost trying to find their way home after a late night beer it makes me a bit concerned! On the other had he has probably run off with a French waitress who doesn't have wi-fi. johnnyboy, if you are out there let us know how it's going as we are all sitting here on the edge of our seats, I hope every thing is OK.

it does seem as though he has gone awol, maybe he's having too much fun skiing to keep us as updated as last season, or maybe he's busy writing a book about his exploits and has had to sign some form of clause saying he won't write about it before its finished hehe

Hurtle, I got the impression that the season hadn't progressed without incident and that rather than post nothing, but the bad stuff that had happened he decided to not post at all. He did seem happy to be meeting up with folks when I spoke to him and looked well in himself at the time I bumped into him. BMF_Skier actually missed seeing him by about a minute !!!
