Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi folks, I'm heading up to Snowdonia this weekend staying in Llanberis and will be taking my board
, however I've never skied/boarded up that way before so can anyone recommend anywhere good to try? I'll be taking my old "spare" board so it doesn't matter too much if it gets a bit scratched or anything
Thanks, Dan

You could try an early morning descent of Banana Gully on Y Garn, watching out for climbers coming up the narrow bit in the middle. It's a grade 1 climb of about 800 feet. Be aware though that there is some substantial avi risk at the moment. A climber got carried 100m by a slide the other day in the Nameless Cwm (Cwm Cneifion) heading from Easy Route to Hidden Gully.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Is there anything to the E and SE of Bethesda? I had a quick look at the OS map last night, to the E Gyrn Wigau and to the SE Mynydd Du ridge up to Carnedd Dafydd look accessible

Take your raincoat, the forecast is awful. I'll be up that way myself, was hoping to find some climable ice but not looking likely. More likely to end up on another wet walk up a mountain.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

So glad I left the board and the climbing hardware at home. High winds and rain on the Glyders on saturday. All melted on Moel Siabod on sunday.
