Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@limegreen1, you and others keep going on like this ... as if the SCGB has some sort of innate legal authority or moral respectability. If you've been following this thread over the past couple of years, you'll know that the SCGB has ...

- Falsified its membership statistics, for years and currently, at 29,000 to 34,000 etc. Failed to publish its subscription numbers ('paying units') for the past 3 years.
- Failed to account for the income/expenditure of its ten-year cumulative 'environmental fund' of c.£100,000
- Promoted and sold ski helmets using false head injury data
- Sold advertising for Ski Club TV, its magazine Ski+Board and its website, using false audience data, from 2011 to 2014.
- Published false snow depth data for Scottish ski areas, and repeatedly (each winter for the past 3 winters) reported Scottish ski areas "closed" all weekend, when they've been open.

On that basis, why stick up for a 'kangaroo court' in its expulsion of a member?

limegreen1 wrote:
You have to legally challenge to have the ruling over turned

No I don't! Clubs are perfectly capable of addressing wrongs and putting them right. I'm not paying the fees of 'men in wigs'

I understand fully what you are saying......
But the fact remains .... Kangaroo court or not, you "have been expelled" ..... You are not a member.

Legal challenge ? No ?? ........
I am afraid to be the one to break it to you but ... yes you do ...... If you are waiting for the club to reinstate you by "righting " their wrongs you will be an ex member for many a years.
If you are not going to spend money on such a challenge then the whole of this thread should be put to bed by your own admission ....

The SCGB says it has that authority. If I accepted that it had that authority I might agree with you.

On a comparable note [his lawyer argued that his client had been subjected to a 'kangaroo court'] ... what was the position of rob@rar on the expulsion of Simon Butler from BASI on 1 November 2014?

http://www.basi.org.uk/article/basi-statement-cessation-of-membership-simon-butler.aspx

Did you agree with the BASI board's expulsion decision, as reported in the above link?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/snowandski/11248334/Ski-champion-fighting-teaching-ban.html

After the Edinburgh court had reinstated Simon Butler's membership [as reported in the above link], did you agree with Simon Butler's lawyer? ...

Quote:
Ian Mitchell, QC, the senior counsel in Mr Butler’s case, described the BASI process to expel Mr Butler as “a grotesque Kangaroo court.”

Simon Butler legally challenged the expulsion.
This has no bearing on the clubs stance of your being expelled.....
If you feel aggrieved by the actions of the "kangaroo court" then take legal action ......
Otherwise .... You remain an ex member .... And will be for many a year ....
It matters not what has gone before nor what anyone thinks, .. bar the judge who will make the decision to over turn the clubs decision or not should a legal challenge be made .....
You are not going make one and the SCGB are obviously not interested.......

Yes, it would be a libel, if all three aspects of that sentence weren't true, in terms of documented evidence.

Let's be absolutely clear here: none of the above is either (a) false (b) malicious. I have very strong moral objections, as a member of the Ski Club of Great Britain, to the way the organisation operates commercially. These objections are part-based on my working for the Club - primarily from 1984 to 1994 - when it presented all the data relevant to our activities (on the SCGB magazine Ski Survey) correctly.

On the previos page, DG quotes the former Rules of the SCGB as being those under which he was wrongly expelled.
However, the club incorported, many moons before said expulsion.
By paying his membership fees in the year after incorporation DG, and all other members who did so, were deemed to have accepted the new terms of the Limited by guarantee company.
Under those new terms DG's membership was correctly terminated - they give a right to a written objection, not to a face to face with the committee.
DG knows this full well, he is being disingenuous, to say the least, to keep quoting the obsolete Rules.

Oh yes, all terribly proper and credible (in common with the "former" - and only respectful - Rules that acknowledge normal British qualities of justice) ... until one looks further into the provenance of the 'Articles' of Ski Club of Great Britain Limited, which you rely upon.

No, not the provenance of SCGB Ltd. The provenance of its Articles of Association. The document that was never circulated to SCGB members.
The document that you claim - it's very debatable - replaces the real Rules of the Ski Club of Great Britain.

Should you now be a member of the SCGB.....re the invite...............YES!

WHY NOT! Becaue you made the basic mistake of coming on here bragging that you where back in BEFORE ! they took your money.

Your fault nobody elses as to why you are not back, you should have kept quiet waited till the money had gone, you got your membership numbers etc then bragged that the ban was over. If they had expelled you again after that before you had a chance to give them grounds you could have taken that to lawyers for redress but you did not you did not think clearly.

Are you conducting a Vendetta as rob@rar, has suggested YES! but from what bits I have seen so is GA so I do not hold that against you as I view due to his position he should act in a more mature and professional manner than you would be obliged to, though that does not mean you should not strive to do so yourself.

Your comments on here are not producing the results you want so as someone who I take has a reasonably good level of intelligence do you not think that this suggests you need to rethink your stratergy ? You need friends not more enemies.

Ski Club Freshtracks: Women off piste
http://www.skiclub.co.uk/skiclub/membersonly/snowtalk/discussion.aspx/Ski-Club-Freshtracks?discussionID=15106#.VOEBzE0giiw

It opens with Skeeb executive Katy Ellis [Sales & Operations Manager, Ski Club Freshtracks] candidly making a number of points about SCGB holidays and "compatible women". SCGB member John Dixon* wades in with some dodgy humour that goes down like a lead cablecar ...

Quote:
So does this ratio work, the female minority defuses all the testosterone of male competition, gives the guide someone who at least listens to what they say,but more than that ratio doesn't work,by the end of the week too many women start fighting amongst themselves? ...
... So the solution is no more than two women per guide on SCGB off-piste holidays and you will fill these slots instantly due to the publicity and outraged response ...
... Two spoonfuls of male chauvinism shaken not stirred and as predicted the post generates publicity ,outrage and mass signings up for womens' off-piste skiing.
I would like claim a free SCGB off-piste holiday and 30CH per day spending money next season.
