Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wisniova - Polish Cherry Vodka

Krupnik - Polish Honey Vodka

Both heavenly and warming - field tested in Poland itself and shortly after an ill advised swimming trip in the North Sea in march Smile

Edinburgh has a big Polish community so you can get it quite easily in any Polish shop, if there's one nearby in London just go in and ask for "vishneeyohva" vodka Smile

Otherwise try a specialist off license I guess? Here's an online one:

Not sure if I like the vodka or the crumble made from rhubarb that has been soaking in vodka for six months best but both are great!

Take 2 hip flasks.

One with port&brandy for a quick "nip" on the chairlift
One with just brandy, for adding to a hot chocolate (as mentioned on another thread, I carry a flask of hot chocolate in my backpack). While we toyed wtih the idea of adding the brandy to the hotchocolate at "manufacture time", my 13yo daughter wasn't keen.

Genepi - most French alpine supermarkets seem to have this; although by far the best is the locally-made version, higher in alcohol and less sweet.
Alternative for my hipflask is spanish brandy, good neat or to liven up the coffee or chocolate chaud.
Also very fond of any of the sloe suggestions - our sloe de vie blows yer socks off Madeye-Smiley

I do decant a nip of my chosen whiskey into my morning porridge, but i know that's not necessarily available at the average mountain restaurant (malt snobs, i dont care what you say, I'm Irish, we invented the stuff Toofy Grin )

my dad has a bottle of berry poitín (not sure whats infused in it) back at the ranch, it's yum so may give it an outing if we can smuggle some in
