There are a couple of "purpose built" WC's around the Borovets area which are worse as that one is probably very little used as Georges Igloo is quite out of the way. Next to the 4 man chair down the track and across from the gondola there is a small cubicle which surrounds one of those French style stand-up toilets (whatever they are called) and more disgusting than what is shown here as it does not get "raked". There is no obvious plumbing or running water, no door or toilet paper. It is littered with soiled tampons, tissues and pooh and I daresay cleaned out once a year by the young apprentice. The walls are decorated with what you might first think are ventilation holes but are in fact bullet holes.
We don't go there anymore either.

I Have had a drink here a few years ago, went again the following day and the shack had been set on fire. According to the ski instructor it happens all the time, its in a good location and someone else wanted the pitch, bUt the old boy just keeps re building iit. Thankfully didn't use the loo!

don't let this put you off completely- went to Pamporovo in 2004 when it was much less developed (hubby's 1st trip did not want to spend much incase he hated it) there may be places like this but everywhere we stopped had proper facilities we had ok snow in march even in resort - true about smoke though

I can hardly believe that the community can permit such a 'facility' to exist when it relies on the tourist greenback.
