Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cortina to Sella Ronda

 Poster: A snowHead

Hey Folks,
Will be staying in Cortina on the week of Jan 8 (hope we get snow by then...)
I was wondering if there is a bus from Cortina which takes me to the Sella Ronda and back, how long is the ride, and whether this is a doable one-day trip for intermediate plus skiers (taking the ride, doing the 60km circle and back by bus).
Many thanks!

That is a luigi, question. There is a bus from Cortina to the Cinque Torri, and you can get to the Sella Ronda from there via the Hidden Valley, but that would be a huge, huge day and a lot of skiing. I think taxi to and from Selva would be a better idea. Turn left at Selva. (ie go the Arabba, Canazei way round.)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There's a skibus that links Cortina with the Cinque Torri/Col Gallina/Falzarego area, you can then ski the Hidden Valley run down to Armentarola and then link across to the Sella Ronda, go around and back to Armentarola to get the minibus taxi back up to Falzarego and hope you haven't missed the last bus back to Cortina!!

Sounds like it has been done by Lizski in this thread:

Lots of good advice there! snowHead

The hotel we stayed at in Cortina a few years back told us that guests had completed the Sella Ronda by the route luigi describes but warned us it is a v long day and you would need to get the first bus out of Cortina to Passo falzalegro (sp?) to do it

After much deliberation we're booked and will be in Cortina from next Thursday. Could anyone recommend a ski school/particular instructor for an intermediate skier that's plateaued a bit? Also looking for a decent hire place in the town center.

Edit* I actually meant to bump my earlier 'Cortina Tips' thread but this one will do.
