From Televerbier, "lifts open today and every day" Lac des Vaux and La Chaux.
It also looks as if parts of Veysonnaz and Siviez have lifts running as well. This must be the earliest in last 5 years

My mate was in Siviez yesterday - said there is tons of snow, although he also highlighted that the offpiste next to the 3 (!) runs that were open was still very rocky...

A friend was out at the weekend and said it was unfortunately fairly disappointing, and didn't bother on Sunday. Given all the snow at Lake Geneva level this is surprising, although it is tipping it down at the moment so a lot of that will be washed away.
Supposedly falling as snow above 1500m.
Another friend went to a small local resort near Montreux and said the snow was actually pretty good at the weekend, so it seems Verbier has been bypassed by the best stuff for now.

Mrs NBT had a phone call today from one of her customers who's in Verbier at the moment. COmplete blizzard conditions, dumping snow so heavily that they have decided not to ski today as they can't see

o11y, snow was actually pretty nice up top and got corny just in the last little bit to Ruinettes so freezing level is still high and it is peeing in village again now. There is actually quite a bit of snow up top, the guys I were skiing with were eyeing No1 couloir as it is collecting a lot of neige but some biggish slides just around creblet so not really a goer methinks.

It was Mint today! Once you got out of the pea soup in the village it was clear above Ruinettes. About 15cm of fresh, plenty to play in. Enough coverage for some of the gnar boys to drop some fifteen footers which was good to watch. Nice base building up top.

Nice day in Verbier today if very cold. Somewhere between 15 and 30cm has fallen yesterday on a very crusty base with wind blowing it around.. The North facing slopes were wind scoured eg Gentianes looked horrible but there was some great stuff in the more sheltered areas. Col de Mouches was in good nick first thing and a Vallon D'Arbi typically good in the trees. Piste skiing looked good.

No pics....but:
Coverage is 100%, have not seen any sign of the ground beneath even though it has now been a while since it last snowed.
Last week was busy, but the lift system was coping pretty well. Today was much quieter and the coming week will be less busy.
Probably as many holiday skiers, just a lot less locals day-tripping (all back to work) and the number of appartment owners in town will be a mere fraction of those here for New Year.
Off piste it is a challenge to find anything untracked, but the snow is now that lovely consolidated powder that is chalky and grippy, making even the very steep stuff much easier.
On piste it can get polished in the shade, particularly busy spots in the afternoon, get your edges done and problem solved.

Warmed up a bit today, the icy stuff softened and piste skiing was a pleasure for all.
Flaking down a bit, not amounting to much so far.
Still no earth showing though, so all good really (except off piste...totally, utterly tracked out)

Last report from me until half term:
Beautiful day today!
No crowds, no lift queues either!
Verbier did not get the rain (no more than a little drizzle) that many other parts of the Alps got in the last couple of days. Friends in Chamonix spoke of teeming rain there for example.
In fact it got a bit of snow. Not a lot, I'd say about 5-10cms depending on location.
What that has done though is freshen up the pistes....they are in superb condition now. Real Hero skiing style!
Mont Fort is in excellent, really excellent, condition. It never will be easier and don't be put off by what looks like a wall from the lift. The snow is soft and grippy, the moguls small(ish) and regular shaped. If you did fall you won't slide, and it is too soft to hurt.
