Just working on the 2010/11 season trips. I cant't find any low cost or direct flights to friedrichshafen (FDH). Anyone know if there are any direct flights to FDH from UK?

Bob, Ryanair used to be the onley ones (I think), but just checked their website and they don't seem to anymore (which is bad news, as it's very handy for St Anton). A quick check of the freidrichshafen website shows that there aren't *any* flights from the UK anymore...

RyanAir pulled out of Friedrichshafen their using Memmingen now which is a longer transfer to resorts like St Anton.

Bob, I flew there with Astraeus about 4 years ago. It was part of a package deal though and I don't know if Astraeus just flew for tour ops.

I went charter there in 2007..through ski val, but checking their website they don't seem to have sorted out flights for this season.... nice little airport, not a lot (any) retail therapy but perfect in a low-stress kind of a way. Shame O'leary's mob have dumped it Loacker tours won't be happy about that...

I checked with My Wings (who are based at Friedrichschafen) this morning, they confirmed:
"yes we will fly during the winter season London-Gatwick, end of next week we will implement our winter schedule on our booking system"

Some less excellent news from Sydney Reilly's blog:
"MyWings hits problems
I have found out today that the German airline "MyWings" has run into problems and therefore will not be flying into Friedrichshafen from Gatwick. The marketing department at Friedrichshafen have been talking to various airlines about a route from the UK into the airport - Easyjet & Lufthansa in particular."

I would think it very unlikely at this late stage that EasyJet or Lufthansa will have a route up & running for this coming Ski Season.
