Poster: A snowHead

I've just booked our minibus and my daughter's car from Boulogne to dover for £15.00 each. Speed ferries have a promotion of 50,000 tickets from £7.50 per car and up to 6 passengers.

David@traxvax, Hells Bells!!! That is some deal! Pity they don't travel from here! Thanks for the info on Mougins. Did actually find some hiking routes through the woods - 2 hour max and went up to the Gorges du Loop for the biggies. Plenty of snow!!!!

Bernard Condon, many years ago I went to the Gorges du Loop whilst on a summer holiday, whilst walking through the gorge I came across a very large snake which caused me to turn arround and find a different path, the snake was dark and about 5 or 6 ft long I thought it had right of way !

D G Orf, Very wise move! - especially if it was 'snake lunchtime!' The gorge is an amazing place, but I will bering a helmet next time if I hike it in Winter. 'Stone', as distinct from rock falls, dislodged by thawing frost made for non-amusement in places. It was like dodging enemy fire! Stones from 100 feet or so can cause a nasty, or permanent headache.

David@traxvax,much thanks for the info.Have today booked two crossings for Summer hols;both at £38 return.Well pleased These are cheaper than the so called 'special' offers that Sea France keep mailing to me.As we all know, special they ain't!!
Will be keeping an eye on Speed Ferries. Will be interesting to see how their pricing structure fairs against the big boys? How long will it be before they 'cosy' up to the others on price? We shall see!

Took the time to look at other bits of the Speed Ferries site. The Press releases make interesting reading.Who would have thought the mighty P&O would fear one man and his boat Nice quote re Euro Tunnel.Apparently the CEO of S/Ferries is so flattered at being citied as the reason for price cuts on the chunnel, that he decided to cut them again;hence the fares we have just enjoyed.
Out of interest,I have just tested a range of dates this coming summer, inc peak time Bank Holiday crossings and middle of the day Sat/Sun outs and returns.Apart from a couple of Sat returns(fully booked)they all came in at £38 return.
I really do hope this venture goes from strength to strength, and they maintain their stated aim of bringing low cost, common sense pricing to the Dover crossing.Time, obviously, will tell?

snowskisnow, although I have booked one for the Summer, we won't be travelling that way next Winter, as we are taking the dog to France. I don't fancy having to leave her in the car on the boat, so we will be going by Eurotunnel.
