landlockedpirate, I'm an experienced skier, i gave it a try and it was well worth the drive! We were skiing, outdoors, in the UK. The sheer surrealness of it all made it worth while. I loved the rollers, yes i wish it was a bit steeper and longer but it was more than adequate to enjoy.
If the snow lasts i'll be up there again next weekend. £10 for all day plus a bit of fuel, cant be beaten in my book.

snobunni, good for you! I thought it looks like fun and I believe I'm the second most experienced skier on snowheads! Fridges are horrid indoor skiing is just not natural! TBH there's been a similar post on the Scottish snow report thread. Nowhere in the UK is going to have alpine pistes, lifts and equipment available, especially somewhere that hardly gets a chance to use it. I shall see if the guy wants some more modern skis from our tip at the end of the season!

According to BBC weather website, the dreary murky rain which is washing all the snow away down in Notts/Derbys might just be fresh snow up there!

Bad news folks. The dreary murky rain got us too. We had a great nights skiing last night and have been open today but overnight rain and +2 temps have turned our slopes to knee wrenching mush. The boys and I are now going to try surfing down on an old surf board with the fins removed, if I survive I'll let you know how that one goes. Its great to meet so many of you from all over the north of England. I hope you have enjoyed your visits and hope to see you when the white stuff returns. See ya. Andy, Another World.

fingers crossed that there is a hint of some more snow later in the week, BBC has heavy snow for Leeds on Thursday...(but it's a long way away....)

johnboy, We had good cover on Friday 18th December, My lads had to themselves all afternoon (spoilt brats). We only had 2 days (27th &28th dec) when the cover was too poor to ski right up until we shut last saturday afternoon. Best of all we don't expect much of a winter until february so fingers crossed.
