Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

who's best for last minute deals...?

i've organised our group ski trips the last few years, at least a few months in advance but this year with less people wanting /affording to go we're aiming for a different strategy.

basically 3-5 of us will be booking off the week 2-9th jan 2010 but not booking anything until the tues - thurs the week before so we can see where the best snow is and get some good deals. ideally including flight/ transfers from uk to france/austria/swiz, catered chalet/hotel, ski pass (not bothered on hireas some of us have our own) don't want to pay more than £550pp, i know several people who have done this as a couple and got deals usually £850 down to 500 at such late notice but was wondering any advice on whether this was a recommended idea / experiences / whats the max no. of spaces typically freeto fill in a chalet that late / which tour operators have best late deals..

any help or advice would be appreciated

ps, we're all guys mid/late 20's who can ski pretty well and also like a few places for some good apres

thanks

I'd look at the websites such as igluski and ifyouski.com which often have 'late' deals, and then if you google the chalet name + resort x you can usually figure who the tour operator is. I do think that there might be less late deals around this year given that a number of the TO's have sacked off chalets for this year. I think there's been some feedback on here that w/c 3d Jan is looking somewhat busy too..

hi guys, hope i can be of assistance. try these, they wont really be showing great deals yet as we are to far away like you said, but for nearer the time give them a go http://www.catered-ski-chalets.co.uk/index.asp?http://www.catered-ski-chalets.co.uk/cheapskiholidays.asp+mainframe these are good, there is a different web page for all the major resorts, the web address is basically www.ski-chalets-_________.co.uk then the resort you wish to go. for example http://www.ski-chalets-tignes.co.uk http://www.ski-chalets-morzine.co.uk/?gclid=CPiznJn7-p0CFZoU4wodezW4pw http://www.stantonchalets.co.uk/ http://www.lesarcschalets.co.uk/ they are freat for late deals, use the search late deals section at the top, you often get half price deals on here nearer the time

jimmykingy, we have used Alpine Answers in the past and they found us a superb deal with Ski World on their website they have a late deals sections, though it a bit early for the first week of January, the deals start to appear about 6 weeks before travel. Interactive Resorts is another agency that have a good site and post deals ( they are also the operators of Catered Ski Chalets). Chalets Direct is a good site for finding independent operators.
