...who buys a set of skis, and skis them for more than 5 or 6 days ???
All you ever see in adverts for second-hand skis is, "only used for 3 days" - or "virtually new, used for 5 days skiing only".
Everywhere, on every ski forum and every second hand or auction place. A wild coincidence ??
...or is it just me..?

scootsman1, nope. Nor have snowball's, Kramer's or Jules B's (or they hadn't when I last saw them. Judging by the graphics in the pictures I have seen, the spate of delaminations occurred in models a year newer than mine.

fr0sty, nope, bought my Shamans in Jan and thay've had about 6 weeks on snow, would have had more but I was tempted into some Pilgrims as well by the prices offered. Going back to the point I suspect you were making, when it comes time to sell I shall focus on the age of the skis rather than making dubious claims on the number of days used.

If someone has more than 1 pair of skis its quite possible that one other than the daily driver has very light use. Years old doesn't really mean anything in terms of skis as to condition. Someone who does 1 week a year & services them might have skis that have only 24 days on them & functionally in new condition after 4 years compared to a seassonaire who would have put 400+ days on them in the same period (assuming the skis survived).
Don't forget that gear whores on here are very indecisive about their skis & particularly I've seen on TGR people buying specialist skis just to try them for a couple of days then selling them on.

No, I think most people do that.

I suspect that most of those sales are from people who didn't demo sufficiently, and only realised the skis were not suitable for them rather too late.
