Reiteralm (4-Berge) and possibly Schladming as well will have an early opening around October 25-27 (Austrian national holiday at October, 26). With up to 1 m of new snow now (snow storm since monday) and roaring snow cannons (I think the whole area has some 600 snow cannons in total) the conditions should be perfect. It is almost exactly the same situation as two years ago, when Reiteralm and Schladming-Planai opened around October, 26. I had two perfect early ski days (with almost only few other people around) there in 2007.
Train connection from Salzburg (about 1h or so / 4h from Vienna).

Hi there, I am new to this forum so here it is in a nutshell. I am researching ski resorts and travel with the aim to travel around a work in ski resorts. If i were to have constant employement or live in work (assuming they would have me) what are the main ski seasons for europe and then new zealand etc to enable me to keep moving around with the seasons and go where the work is (again assuming there is work).
I have never skied before so this is all very new to me and I am currently in researching stages to help me plan and weight up my options. Any help or advice on how to do thid the right way so i dont end up having to cut short my travels and come home early would be great.
Thanks
