Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Exactly. Aren't Ocean liners supposed to be in the sea not on the side of a mountain?

As the weather was threatening thunderstorms we drove up to Plagne villages for lunch and to look at the new lift.
This pic is looking down to where Meleze started, it looks ike a new piste on the right of the mound (which has an electrity pylon on top) to go to the new Bergerie lift or keep left to go down the original piste to connect to 1800 or Plagne centre.

Silly question rolling eyes Will there be a mid-station where the old lift started from so you can still get on just downfrom the Terra Nova or will you have to ski down to 1800?

Linds, A new lift goes from 1800 to where Meleze use to start. The 2nd new lift called Bergerie goes from near where the Meleze use to start up to near the bergerie restaurant Very Happy

Just to confuse things the 1st new lift is basically the old meleze lift re-positioned Toofy Grin

I've just found this photo

Which finally gets my head round what they're doing/done. Hopefully the new Bergerie lift is setup at the bottom to avoid that uphill scoot that used to exist on the Melezes, however much you tried to 'gun it' under the UCPA and dodge the learner drivers you never made it up the hill - although I'm not convinced that's the case looking at this photo. It's also a good/bad thing if you're in Plagne Soleil, as you no longer have chairs going over the top of your balcony - always good entertainment, checking out the chalets wink OTOH getting back could be a pain - will you be able to get from the top of the new Bergerie lift across to take Dou De Praz back down? Or will you have to drop into Bellecote and take the unloved (apart from the steez 1/2 pipe crew) colosses drag

This will be curtains surely for the restaurant at the top of the old Melezes lift - which I don't think is a bad thing. Whilst it was our de-facto 4pm vin chaud stop on a group trip about 10 years ago enjoying the sun, when I made the mistake of eating there more recently it was frankly terrible.

I hope they run the new Melezes and the linking 'kiddy-lift' from earlier in the day than the main lifts in 1800 - again 10 years ago ESF only ran boarding lessons out of PC and those slumming it in 1800 had to get on the bus to get up which was no fun. With the new lift you could drop to 1800, up Melezes then take the punter chair - provided you have enough time to do so.

I think the new Melezes will add a lot to 1800 as a destination to stay, previously it felt a little cut off from parts of the domain - now you can be at the top of the Mio in 3 lifts and no freaking buses.

Sorry if going over old ground...

PS a tips for some good lift-served off-piste got some buddies going out in Jan
