Hi All
Off to Ischgl end Jan and was wondering how much a pint is out there and also food in general in the restaurants - also any suggestions on any good bars that we can take the kids (teenagers) in with us??

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

I think a pint would be about 4 or 5E.
Your kids would find the Schatzi a bit of an eye opener during apres between 4 and 7.

IIRC last year we paid around 3.5 - 4.0 Euros for a 0.5 litre, food was anything from 7 - 8 Euros for a pizza or bowl of pasta upto serious money in some resturants. You could get a good steak for 20E.
As for bars it depends what you are after, the german euro-trash in Nikki Stadl's is so bad it's good.

yep - depends where you go. We ate/drank in mostly the 'traditional' bars and a beer was generally 3.5-4 Euros, food 8-12 Euros for really tasty local food. Beer in popular apres bars 4-5, and i'm sure you could spend a lot more if you tried. Like in the Champagne bar Also found food in mountain restaurants very reasonable, altho we don't tend to eat much at lunch, so a bowl of Suppe was often enough.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Will be in Ischgl week beginning 31/1/9. These prices wouldn't be too bad.

No I was thinking that - everyone saying it's dearer than all the other resorts in Austria but compared to La Plagne it sounds cheap!!

juliebenn, Ischgl is the only resort in Austria we have skied, but having skied several resorts in France, Switzerland, and Italy the "Ischgl is expensive" thing is a bit of joke. It may be more expensive than some other Austrian resorts, but it is cheaper than Tignes, Val d'Isere, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Zermatt, and Cervinia, but slightly more expensive than Livigno.
