I'd go and speak to the ski school(s) director(s), achilles. I've had great experiences with their groups, and the more advanced classes ski off piste all day.

Hurtle, in spades. wish I had opted for the EOSB - but I have only 3 weeks a year to go skiing, so I have burned my boats.

rob@rar, ha! someone's told you my guilty secret! Haven't opened the wrapper yet - I got an 8GB IpodTouch - thinking that I wasn't bothered about music or videos - but really liked the surfing. But I gather it doesn't do surfing - out of the box at least. Can I get a software upgrade for web browsing? If so, all is still well, otherwise I'll try handing the thing back to Dixons.

achilles, I think you might well have bought an old model from Dixons; IIRC the current version has a web client built in to it. If that is correct take it back to Dixons and buy one from the Applestore. You might be able to pay a small upgrade fee to get that functionality if you can't take it back to Dixons.

Achilles, I strongly recommend Harry Wolf Head of Snowboarding at the Ski School (the ones with Blue & Yellow jackets) he is also a phenomenal skier. This guy took us off piste and was really fun to ski with. Try powder school?
