hi guys,
like the name of this thread is already asking, is it OK if I buy freestyle skis, but for freeride purposes?
I am interested in Tecno Pro RPX 720 model, which is one made by Intersport, and I am able to get them at very good price. Waist is 90mm, which should be enough for most of the hills in our country.. I mean I will not get stucked in the middle of the woods. Maybe I just get confused by the terms, maybe I am missing something important.. I believe you will help me if it is worthy buy

Yes and no. Most freestyle twin tips make great freeride skis. Loads of peeps hear talk about great skis such as K2s public enemy or Volkl Karma (or Bridge). Avoid symetrical park skis as the mounting point is wrong for free ride.

They're usually better off-piste than on, in my experience, usually too floppy to hold an edge well. But wide enough underfoot for floating about in the powder. Often pretty damn good for moguls.

what the hell. yeah buy them. The dims on the RPX 720 suggest it would be fine all mountain ski. Enjoy.

I have the Public Enemy and have no problems with it on piste. Doesn't quite finish a turn like a non twin tip does. but still holds a decent edge.

Some freestyle skis, probably yours too, are good for freeride. Especially if they are mounted so that they are not perfectly good for freestyle.
Other freestyle skis are just rotten for freeride no matter how you mount them.

Not unknown to me... see them a lot, but then, i 'frequent' intersport both here in Switzerland as well as back in holland.
Has a budgetty feel to it... the snowblades my sister had from that brand sucked... the salomons i been on last year from central sport wengen were 20 times better.
Then again: friend said when we were down in Interlaken that the Tecno pro bindings available there are made by Salomon... which isn't all that evil normally..
