pitchski, I checked it out last year - the access to that roof is via an outside ladder located above and to the right of the main entrance into the building (piste side). Its like those New York appartment fire escape thingies, you have to pull it down to get up the first level... but its padlocked.. you will need bolt croppers... in which case, I think they might not have a sense of humour about using it....!!

I can't believe the amount of snow in a few days - just hope the link from La Thuile is open when i am there in Jan - would love to make full use of the area - Don't you and Mrs Johnboy use it all up you hear?!

It does look incredible. Looks like La Rosiere's geographic location has helped it build up a 200cm base. (And that figure was from this morning and it snowed all day).

Do you know if the link to La Thuile is open? I am thinking of going to La Thuile at the weekend but would like to know how much of the domain will be open and if I can ski into La Ros. Otherwise it'll be Chamonix

La Ros doesn't open until the 15th....so it's not open at the moment! but the la thuile website says:
From Saturday 15th December 2007, the International Connection with La Rosière will be open.

johnboy, yes, it was a real shame the tree runs were closed last year, it would be great to ski from the top of Roches noires(2400m odd) to the bottom of fontain froid-the tree run(1200m)

At least you can spot snow on the Rosiere side - the La thuile cams are pointed at a very pretty mountain view, but nothing close enough to judge snow on.
