The chance of owning the New Zealand ski resort, Mt Dobson, is attracting a lot of attention. The ski resort is on the market at an asking price of more than $2 million. The current owner, Peter Foote, has been blown away by the interest in the sale and some serious buyers have been inspecting the property....Mt Dobson is the country's largest privately-owned skifield and has been open to the public for 28 years. It is about an hour's drive from Timaru and has tens of thousands of visitors a year, mainly Canterbury locals, who say it is one of the country's best kept skiing secrets.
Foote and his family have owned the skifield for more than 30 years. "It needs further capital, further development and I think it's time for me to step aside and let someone else have a go at taking it to the next stage," says Foote.
