So who's done it cued up the opening bars of " 7 Nation Army","Highway to Hell" or John Barry's "OHMSS" or whatever as they slid off the chair then nailed the next run like a superhero, in their own mind?
(Warning obviously only ever listen with one earbud in with the volume low on empty piste days )

Far too much of a gobshoite to listen to music on a lift but have found moderate amounts of booze helps.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

fatbob, I've never skiied with earphones - actually not that keen on having music piped straight into my head at any time - but have always wondered whether those who do ski to music, turn in time with the music's rhythm. Rhythm is an important factor in skiing (isn't it?) and it would be difficult (wouldn't it?) to have two rhythms going on at once.
I've never been comfortable with listening to music while I'm riding. Kind-a-ruins-the-tranquility. For me anyway. I know it enhances some peoples experience, I just don't dig it. Seems to be most popular with snowboarders, may be linked to the unpleasant noise?
I do enjoy composing music in my head when I'm "G-ing" myself up or "slaying" something or other, or whatever it is the youth do these days. Allows me to control the rhythm, and really star in my own movie...
Then you can post your own questions or snow reports...

Now you're talking! Moderation is important, though. I knew I had exceeded a moderate level the time I fell off a chairlift when trying to get on to it! Have been more careful since then.

Sorry, didn't mean to advocate drunken skiing, which is certainly for losers. But a couple of small glasses of wine with food - which is all I ever have on the slopes nowadays - definitely improves post-prandial performance. But that's just a personal observation, I'm not advocating it for everyone. (Ducks potential brickbats from safety brigade.)
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

If I listened to music on the lift and wanted some inspiration it would be something like this
I find the best thing is to get pumped before you hit the slopes. Never got round to listening whilst riding. If I did it'd be breakbeat or drum 'n bass; something to define a rhythm and basically rip it
P.S. I'm not drunk
Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

Frosty the Snowman, If you listened to that before skiing, I'd want to be on a different slope.

Many moons ago I had some lessons with a very elderly Austrian lady who made us all drink one gluwein and then sing Straus waltzes all the way down. Don't know if it helped but felt like a right prat!
