Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I tested a number of skis in St Anton over Easter including:

Salomon Skiercross, Rossi B3s, Scratch (photo below)

and Volkl Karma (photo below).

50% off full price for loads of freeride and freestyle skis so very tempting to buy. Eventually decided to get Karma at 185 although also tested 177s, I'm 180cm and 83 kilos. Cost €150 plus €100 for Tyrolia freeride binding

Good call on ski and length I'd say.

Enjoy snowHead

That's a good price. All you need now is a good pair of slalom skis and you'll have a perfect quiver Smile

rob@rar, I don't fancy lugging two pairs of skis around on my shoulder every holiday, they weigh a tonne!

Mosha Marc, that length (185) was much more stable at speed and I could still turn them pretty easily at low speed. It was the last pair of 185s in the shop (Jennewein Sports in St Anton, best value in the town last week)

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Peter Ross,

Its a twin and twins ski shorter anyway, I think. Besides, you have tried them and can handle them, so no problem.

JT, Jennewein Sports in St Anton know what they are talking about so got good advice, they do ski shorter and there are pretty flexible so easy to bend, not like race skis. I really liked the Rossi Scratch but as they are more free ride skis I thought it was better to get the more all rounder ski as when you have limited ski trips per year it's hard to get lucky with powder.

Nice skis - I think i might add the karmas next year - a bit more versitile than just having the gotamas. I defiitley think volkl has the best line up at the mo.

Volkl doesn't make Karmas next year. The Volkl Bridge is the replacement.

And the graphics on them are awful. Good skis though, apparently

BGA, I agree. But if their build quality is as good as the Karmas, and with some added width, I might just have to get a pair, despite the horrible graphics....

are they available in 185? Where can I get more info? These could be the skis for me. I think the mantras are fattening up to 96 underfoot.

They definitely do come in a 185. In fact, I believe they come in same sizes as the karma, just 5 mms fatter and a bigger sidecut, smaller turning radius at 130-92-112
