Hi All,
Snuck in an early season trip with a buddy last year the week before Xmas, and got very lucky at Les Arcs, with 1.5m snow falling just before we arrived.
Looking to do something similar this year, there are a group 5 of us who are up for it, intermediate skiers, mid 20s with around 6 weeks each, happy to ski pretty much all pisted and the odd off piste section.
Looking for recommendations for this week - I know VT is often a popular choice. We don't really have any specific requirements, I know last year there were some great deals for opening week chalets etc - any recommendations? Thinking we should probably book within the next week or so.
Cheers

Leave it late until you know if/where the snow has fallen. Before Xmas nowhere will be busy so easy to find acommodation. VT, Val d’Isere/Tignes, Chamonix, Verbier are some good options for an early season adults trip

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@jdgs, Have a look at Sunweb, we have had some real bargains with them early and late season, prices always include lift passes, but not transport. Also look at Austria - quite a lot of Austrian resorts open quite early. (Had a bargain week in Mayrhofen early December a few years ago with Sunweb)

Are you getting a TO deal. If so leave it to the week before. A couple of years back conditions were so poor you would have pulled the plug. There should be plenty of deals available, even if conditions are looking good. It's just not a high season week.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks guys. Not fussed where we get the deal from really, I'm getting itchy to get something booked now, but I'll hold off a bit longer then...

Any new heads up now we are closer to the time on where might be best?
Would like to book later this week.
Cheers all

Igluski has a couple of cheap chalet deals to VT from brum and Manchester (LGW much more expensive, unusually). 430 odd pp seems decent

@jdgs, if you’re thinking of Dec 15-22, or thereabouts, I’d leave booking until next Sunday at the earliest.
As others have pointed out, a low demand week.
Are you thinking of a TO package or DIY? Are you thinking catered accomm or self catered apartment?

Open to all options to be honest. Catered preferred but not too fussed. Just want some good skiing at a good price.

@jdgs, any news on this? I'm looking for something from Gatwick or a DIY to Val d'Isere or Chamonix. There's always Mark Warner if people are prepared to share rooms.

@jdgs, Wait until after this weekend. If the predicted snowfall occurs a lot of options start to open up. If you enjoyed Les Arcs maybe try 3V this time. Similar large ski area - lots to go at for a young intermediate group.

Been snow to low levels and a low freezing level forecast so I would start checking out the deals.

@Dave_loves_skiing, sorry if any misunderstanding. I am already going out 22nd Dec. Was just trying to help others with their decision making. Hope it goes well.
