Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Can anyone tell me about Herman Maier?

 Poster: A snowHead

Dear all,

I have just been given an assignment at work to do some research on herman maier, however, not being an expert on these matters I've been struggling to find out information. The kind people at ski and snowboard magazine suggested that this might be the best place to find out information. So I'm calling upon your generosity, please could anyone tell me anything they know about herman maier or where I might be able to find such info. I'm looking for anything from date of birth, personal history to details about his victories and his style. Any help would be hugely appreciated, thanks in advance.

danielchandler, welcome to snowheads, if you do a search on google you'll find Herman Maier's own website. that should be a good place to start, lots of information, facts etc.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

http://www.fis-ski.com is the website of the body that is responsible for ski racing. It has a full database of competitors' results which will give you all of Maier's ski racing history.

Just reading his bio, and he suffered from Osgood-Schlattersche Syndrome as a youngster.
I had that too! cool.
danielchandler, I have a feeling he has a bioography out as well which may be worth a look.

great you've all been a big help. Was rather stupid of me not to notice that his website could be translated into english.... I'll make sure to get the biography, it's just it is some very urgent work and I live in Paris, so I'm not sure I'd be able to get the bio in a shop.. it's all for advertising, we're preparing the research just in case he wins in the olympics, so we can do an ad on him. cheers everyone
