Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski and board servicing south Oxfordshire

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Bit of a long shot, but is there anyone around south Oxon who who has the kit to service skis and boards and fancies earning a few beers tuning the edges our skis and board? We can do the waxing fine, but haven't currently got the kit to do the edges.

(I've considered going to the Piste Office for a lesson, but there's no availability before I go skiing.)

As OutdoorTraders, in Abingdon has closed, the only other shop I'm aware of is Carters in Reading (http://www.carters360.com/default.asp?id=131&ver=1). Not sure when the service starts for the coming season though. If you want to go further afield, there is Ski Bartlett (http://www.skibartlett.com/ski-servicing-workshop-i49) in Hillingdon.

HTH.

@sugarmoma666, whereabouts in South Oxon are you and when do you go skiing? I'll be doing my edges in Didcot at some point during mid November or early December if that's any good to you...

@dp, I've just noticed Embarassed, that according to sugarmoma666's location, they're in Abingdon, so just a hop down the A34 from Didcot.

That could be great. I had a recollection you were in Didcot, but your location is showing up as Liverpool. I'm in Abingdon so very close. My first ski trip of the year is 9th December. Do you have the set-up for boards as well as skis?

I'm pretty sure this is something we could do ourselves, once we've seen how it's done Happy I may yet go down the route of buying one of the edge trick tools and having a go with that.

@sugarmoma666, I live in Liverpool but my skis stay in Didcot (family home) because the place I stay in Liverpool at the moment isn't really big enough for all my crap. But I have just bought a flat, with a garage, so that's subject to change over the next 6 months Very Happy

Anyway... I will let you know what my movements are (geographically, not bodily you'll be relieved to know).

Do you have boards or skis or both? I just have a home-made setup with a B&D workmate so I hope it'll take a board...

+1 for this chap. He has waxed and edged my board twice. Very nice chap, running it as a small business on the side, from his shed in the village of Bishopstone. Not too far from the A34.
