Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

New World Record: Fastest 100m in Ski Boots

[Disclaimer - this was my idea and I helped Profeet put it together, but sharing as I can't see it mentioned on Snowheads yet and it's a great story.]

How fast do you think you could run 100m in ski boots? Two employees from Profeet - the ski boot fitting specialists in London - have set new world records...for the fastest 100m while wearing ski boots!

Max Willcocks broke the existing record (yes there was one!) with a time of 14:09 seconds and Emma Kirk-Odunubi set an inaugural women's record of 16:86.



Snowheads will know their boots, so will have spotted the Atomic Backlands in the picture above. They are light ski touring boots, easier to run in than regular boots, but still damn hard work! You can read full details about their attempt here and watch them in action in this video:

Maybe they could have got even faster times if they used NTN (so no duckbill) telemark boots! Toofy Grin

Don't let the Tour Operators know, as in their description, they will reduce the time it takes to go from the Hotel to the Lifts by three quarters. Everywhere will be beside the Lifts! Toofy Grin

Wow, training to make sure you get that last navette. However I did note they were not carrying skis and poles so it is probably an invalid record. There may be other records for dragging a small child a long as well

Yup, next time with skis and poles then...how many tour ops require you to run at the speed to make the chalet 'only 2 minutes to the lifts'... Very Happy

Hmm. Touring boots tho.... what would the time be with a set of full-on alpine race boots ? What about leather tele boots ?
