Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

My initial learning period had me in tears numerous times. Skiing was a very love / hate thing for me. I persisted and now mostly love it even if it occasionally terrifies me still. My problem was I cared too much and forgot I was on holiday.

OP, do you mind my asking how old you are? I started skiing aged 48, and it took a long time to become confident in all conditions and on most slopes. But as is suggested above, a contiguous block of lessons with a sensible (and not necessarily sympathetic) instructor inevitably left me in a much better state than before. Now I love it, but (beware) it costs a bloody fortune to do it as often as I like to. Good luck!

I think sometimes if you're struggling or having a bad time, it helps to just take a moment, look around you and really take in how incredible what you're doing is.
Up in the mountains, super fresh air, nature all around, and you're sliding around on two planks. It is just such a break from normal life. When you can put all that in perspective, it doesn't really matter if you're not quite nailing the technique. You just think about how awesome and lucky you are be in that situation in the first place.
I think when you can kind of "reset" like that, it will help to show you that being frustrated is a little silly, you'll relax, and things will start to come more easily.
Like others have said though, you've not even spent that much time learning yet. Take it easy and enjoy the ride. Once you've got the hang of it, there is nothing else like it
