Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Traveling to Laax from Zurich airport

Hi there folks,

I am off to Laax in early March, I have my flights and accommodation booked and now I just need to sort out the transfers! I have read that the most cost effective route to take from Zurich is rail to Chur and then a ski bus to Laax resort.

Have any of you snowheads done this before and in particular have you used the Snow'n'rail combo (https://leisure.sbb.ch/selection/package?productId=517758043)?

Thanks

@jamieware, Yes I've done it, really easy, post bus is waiting at Chur. Cheapest using Swiss Rail Pass. Is there still a coach transfer from airport? Similar price from memory, but not with kids as they are free by rail.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've done Zurich to Arosa by rail, very easy and used Swiss pass as above. We then caught the little train from Chur to Arosa vs busing over Laax.

Very scenic train journey, make sure you get a seat on the lake side. Useful kiosk in downstairs corridor at Chur station for getting sandwiches and pastries for the bus journey (cheaper than food places you will find in Laax)
