Just back from Morzine, loads of snow around, decent enough base now to really set them up for the season.
Apart from rain in Morzine Friday night, it has stayed cold, which has kept the snow lovely and light, the "real" snow slopes are much more fun to ski than the artificial ones.
Anyone out there this week or Xmas week should have great fun!
Still some powder to be found, but had to walk more on Monday than we did the other days.
These two were taken on Sunday off the Pointe chair in Les Gets
This was taken yesterday, in happy valley, which I think was off Les Combes.
Had a bizarre experience driving back to Geneva, we could hear rubbing, so pulled over in Les Gets, and found solid ice in the wheel arches was catching the tyres, and we could actually smell burning rubber, so the slush/wet snow on Fri night on the drive up must have set rock solid over the weekend!
regards,
Greg

I am very jealous. Very. Jealous. Green with envy, even, perhaps.
We're off to Champoluc Friday which has very little natural snow and little in sight. May have to drop in on Morzine at some point though.
Did I mention anything about jealousy?

David, well worth dropping in I'd say, we took the lift up from Ardent, there must be over 100cm of base at that level.
regads,
Greg

gregh, I love the pic at the bottom of your post, it has a wonderful atmosphere. Maybe consider adding it to the gallery for the SH calendar - if it's not too late. Great stuff

100cm base at Ardent at this time of year is excellent. I think we may get a day over there on the 28th in between various admin things.

Those pics are brilliant. 16 sleeps before Les Gets, and hopefully we'll head over to Ardent 1 day to do the PdS circuit.
I'll remember to take camera this time... some amazing views from above Torgon (i think), overlooking Montreux and the valley that heads vaguely towards Verbier (i think).
