This XC malarkey is downright dangerous. I haven't drawn blood on myself skiing alpine in some years but I have cuts on face and arms from 2 hours skating yesterday.

I'm not saying anything. It could have been a ski-carrying accident. It could be that her pelvis responded negatively to the prospect of skiing, while the skis were being carried. We'll have to await something official.

She's just carrying the bloody things, and she's carrying a little padding round the hips, but not half as much as a lot of the much younger skiers I see around (especially British ones  ). Why all the unkind comments? I hope she makes a swift recovery. You can bet that Dave and George wouldn't go XC skiing.

under a new name, we were out shuffling yesterday, slightly slushy, you could have drowned. I agree it's high risk, my daughter who is pregnant has skied, and snowshoed, and is going to do an easy tour this week but won't consider Nordic skiing, too dangerous.

If you read the article, the accident was over the Xmas break(!) and she only realised the damage done a few days later - hence the report now.

So she probably just cracked her hip on a loaded shopping trolley while picking up sausages in Aldi a couple of days ago. Why would she want to blame it on cross country skiing ? It all smacks of a corporate cover up to me.
