Whistler has good adaptive skiing. So does Durango (Colorado) Mountain Resort. (This is Purgatory Ski Resort to us old timers) has an excellent and affordable program. I had a grandson that gained a lot from the Purg program. Bill Armstrong

If you haven't got it sorted it might be worth looking at Le Grand Bornand in the Aravis ski area. They have ESF instructors who can take disabled kids out of ski adapted chairs. I have seen them out and about on the slopes - they are truely amazing!

The tourist board told me when i was over there in La Plagne that they offered the worlds leading ski solutions for paraplegic skiers - I was shown some video footage and it looked incredible, no softly softly, this was full on snow sports.

We thoroughly recommend Association Handiconcept. info @handiconcept.com . Villars, Switzerland 41(0)79 240 70 82. Lots of equipment. 8 specialist qualified instructors. Access in a wheelchair really easy via the little train to Bretaye. Free ski pass for carer. Lessons cost 60SF/hour. Lots of loos in the mountain restaurants. Claud-Alain Hofer does summer sports also - paragliding and bicycles. We went to his recommended Hotel du Golf with Inghams thro Geneva, but only 8-9 hours fast drive from Calais. Resort flat especially around the station and wheelchairs easy. A lovely man, so patient, kind and understanding - our daughter can not wait to return.

Folks this thread was started way back in 2006 (and had a companion thread - which is why half is missing... in which he was looking for a sitski)...
If you read just up above I sorted it for him with the help of the Inverno Estate Ski School in Livigno (which is where he wanted to go as the family group was heading there)... The whole finish is in the other thread...

Please check out www.ess-grimentz.ch located in the Swiss Valais for adaptive skiing, the resort has an adaptive friendly lift system
accessing fantastic pistes, the ski school director guilliam will connect to jerome lambert, he has a lot of experience and some ski bobs too, there is 4 star adaptive accommodation in Grimentz.

Schladming has a very friendly disabled ski centre that speaks english. Check out http://www.freizeit-pso.com/. They have all of the equipment and cater for physical and mental disabilities. Schladming is in Austria in the Salzburg area of Ski Amade, just inside the Styrian border.
