Seeing a lot of bright bold colours on the slopes. I'm obviously too young to remember what skiing in the 1980's was like ..... but perhaps people such as Masque can help.
I have actually seen a few out on the slopes in France this season!

DB, Brilliant clips...made my day, but sometimes these clothes (not sure about the "suit') come around again. The OH's SOS gear from Verbier C.1989 isn't looking too shoddy now, even the kids aren't recoiling in horror.
Now, if any of you fat ski boys would like a pair of what he's using to make it look so deceptively easy I have a pair of nice 203 SLs in my garage, barely used...

There are loads of one-piece suits on the slopes around here. Simply not worth noticing unless they are spectacularly colourful - as they sometimes are. Some people in them ski very well, some seem to have borrowed them, along with the matching skis, to save a few bob.
You know it makes sense.

DB, you're sounding almost as old as comdey goldsmith
are Spyder jackets with shoulder pads still the height of fashion in your corner of the Alps?
Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

DB, your first sequence. About 1:06 in I am pretty sure that's Scot Schmidt recovering from a poor landing in very sketchy snow.
I don't care what he's wearing, that's pretty awesome skiing in my book...
Scott is one of my favourite skiers of all time, he could ski offpiste slopes on skinnies that most can't even when they're on super wide fatties.

You bet and with this new fangled "feet at shoulder width apart" style, many are skiing like John Wayne with hemorrhoids.
Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Helmets passe now they have made money out of the yoof, back to hippy style hearing the birds the avalanche and the t#t about to run you down. I made decision to try to ski in a helmet forgot to take the ear guards out and got run down because I didn't hear it coming or the ..... would have had an elbow in the face.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There was a woolly jumper group in Austria this year - a whole group and middle aged men in thick chunky dark blue/grey jumpers - all matching. Padded trouser style sallies, no bib and braces. All matching, very distinctive, clearly some sort of club, but I don't think I'd have been warm enough in what they were wearing.

Megamum,
I hear what you are saying but I can't honestly say that the newer ski fashions are any warmer ........................
