Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Help me choose the next skis for my son

He's 11 years old (turning 12 in September). Tall for his age - already around 162 cm, but skinny without being a stick.

Ski level: can ski any piste confidently though he's far from the level of racer kids, discovering offpiste where he is still struggling. No jumps / tricks (yet). Last year he was already graded at "black" level in St Anton.

Current ski: Volkl Gotama Junior, 80mm waist width, 158 cm, slight rocker.

What dimensions / brand / model should I look at for next year? I think he's outgrown the Gotamas, though he can of course keep them as a piste ski.

I'd like something that will work both on piste and off, and that he could use for a couple of years. So I was thinking up to 90mm waist, around 165 in length (especially if the ski has an early rise / rocker).

The shop I went to in St Anton recommended very different skis: Salomon Shogun, Scott Jib and Kastle FX 84 (which I thought would be way too stiff for him).

Some of the women's skis may be ideal for him if he doesn't mind the graphics, how about Blizzard Blackpearl/Bushwacker. Rossi S3s ski ridiculously short and are easy to ski everywhere apart from proper hardpack although that may just be my poo-poo technique, fatter than you wanted though. Volkl Kenja/Kendo might work although Kendo might be a little stiff, Line Celebrity 90?

horizon, +1 for considering a ladies ski. My son, when he was about 11-12, had the K2 Missdemeanors, for example... worked really well
