Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dakine Titan Gloves

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi All, I am in the market for some long gauntlet style gloves. I would love a pair of Hestra Helis but not sure I want to pay the asking price for them. I have seen a pair of Dakine Titan which look pretty good, gore tex etc. What I am not clear on is how long the cuff is compared to the Helis for example. Does anyone have any knowledge of these?

Cheers

I've got Dakine titans - not familiar with Hestra gloves, but I've not had many problems with the cuff length. I've occasionally had to loosen the cuff and refit it over my jacket, usually when I've put them on in a hurry, but other than that happening maybe half a dozen times, they've been great. Quite warm too, I often ski without the inners. The only slight issue I have is that the inners don't bind to the main gloves, there's no velcro or anything to hold them in place

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

my favorite long style gauntlet gloves are the Black Diamond Guide, there was a pair for a bargain price of £50 in the buy and sell sections last week I believe....

I'll check the size this evening and get some pics of the gloves themselves.

They're about £100+ online, so say about £40?

They don't have any rips or tears anywhere and are in good nick. If I had to guess I'd say they were about six years old, but I haven't worn them in ages.

As I mentioned above, the white leather has yellowed a bit; but that's no bad thing as brand new they are very white.
