Poster: A snowHead

Anyone know if the Dynafit One and Mercury boots have the same or similar fit/last?
Many thanks,

Same last, One is Pebex, Mercury as added stiffener tongue, can't see the reason for the One, despite selling 10 or so. Next year the TLT6 will certainly make the One obsolete.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Presumably the One is a little cheaper, lighter, softer? It does have a pleasing lack of green, if nothing else. It is presumably ISO Touring binding compatible, which I don't think the TLT-series is?

Serriadh, not sure why anyone would by any of the boots mentioned with anything but tech bindings. I can see the public dropping either side but not in the middle, the weight price benefits are negligeable.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

So is the One PX-TF essentially the same boot as the Mercury, minus the tongue stiffie and materials?

Lou Dawson said something similar on his site, but I think you are both wrong.
I see a lot of people on Fritschi bindings when I'm out touring. Every one of those people is a potential customer for the Dynafit One. Even if the hoardes of Fritschi users are looking to make the change to Dynafit bindings, the most budget friendly way for them to do that is to buy a boot like the One, and make the change to Dynafit when they buy new bindings in a few years time.
For a lot of '10 days a year' skiers it is hard to justify the cost of buying new boots and bindings in the same year.

Oceanic, You've completely missed the point, nevermind. No one has mentioned Dynafit Bindings, the One can be used in the Fritschi system, but for a few extra quid, you get a stiffer/extra tongue and Grilamid. tata.

My point was that the TLT6 won't make the One obsolete, because there is a substantial market for a 90 flex rating boot that fits into a Fritschi binding.
Maybe the Mercury would make the One obsolete if you knocked 30 Euros off the price.

Yes, and I would be more than happy to buy them from you. Sadly I can't afford them.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I tried the Ones - not for me, felt *really* flexy. Got a pair of Scarpa Maestrale RS instead
