Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ow! I have Leki trigger thumb. Anyone else noticed this?

The Leki trigger system is really good, especially practical for Scottish skiing because you don't have to spend minutes trying to get your big mitt back into a strap while the icy wind is whipping it around. But I've noticed a weird ache in my thumb joints - has anyone else noticed this?

Sofia, not especially, although I found the hand position uncomfortable to start with . This may be because I have very small hands. I will look out for achy thumbs when I'm away next week.

I abandoned mine completely after the first few outings - I just found them too hard to release and fiddly.

pam w, the newer versions are much easier than the older type. I have Trigger S ones and it is simply a case of clipping a loop into a hook at the top of the grip, and releasing by pushing the button on the top of the grip. Hubbies old ones weren't so good.

Hells Bells, I practically never use straps anyway, these days, so won't be buying any new ones - might as well put mine up for sale, I suppose, they are just cluttering up the ski locker.
