Poster: A snowHead

I bought 140cm wide G3 alpinist skins from Edge and wax. They are a medium (up to 180cm) but there seems to be a lot of uncovered ski at the back
This may be to the really wide tip on the preacher as it pulls them up. Would I be better getting hte 180cm to 190cm size?
Thanks,
R.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

^ I wouldnt worry about it, tails are upturned anyways, right? I certainly wouldnt go to the bother of buying new skins, the difference will be negligible

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

normal - no need to cover the whole ski at the tail

Don't put them on back to front and get new cushions - you should be fine.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

well spotted. I was testing to see if the tips being so wide were causing the ski to ride very high to the tip of the ski, if the clips could attach to the side of the tips it would be ok.

Saves me asking the exact same question and posting another pic, just fitted (not yet cut) same sized G3 skins to 178 Sentinels. About 10-12cm from end of skin to tip but only around 5-6cm from end of skin to where the tail starts to curve up. Kind of figured they must be the right size as next size up would only leave a couple of holes in the tensioner.

Yes I cut them they work fine. Dunno how much sentinels turn up at the tip/tail but it won't be a problem.
