Poster: A snowHead

Bit of a weird one. Had a restless night's sleep due to a feeling of "tweaked" ankle and found I couldn't really weight bear on it this morning. Not done any heavy exercise over the weekend and no out of the ordinary movements. No visible swelling or bruising but feels like a sprain does albeit more around the back of the heel.
Is it just tendonitis flaring up or a symptom of something else? Recommended stretches etc?

About where he shows at 0.32 not as high as the tendon itself.

fatbob,
Two thoughts.
Is the problem local to the site of pain or referred pain from a remote site.?
If referred probably most likely nerve pain from the back ( think sciatica) it would be brought on by doing a straight leg raise ie lift you leg up as high as you can whilst keeping knee straight.
If the local area is tender/ swollen or thickened then most likely local. Around that area most likely the tendon, the tendon sheath or the tendon insertion ( where it sticks to heel bone). If there were some mild local inflammation affecting the tendon sheath it may respond to anti inflammatories, if you tolerate them. Taking a bit of pressure off by wearing high heels might help😉 or just a trainer with a bit of height under the heel might help.
If it is slow to settle get a physios to look at it.

But only if fatbob wears fishnets with the heels

Jonathan Bell, My first thought was referred pain but doesn't seem to be - a bit of the rolling has helped along with ibuprofen.
No Atomic Tis.
Zero-G, You saying you don't think I could carry it off?

Not at all. In fact, it's something I would pay good money to see
Btw, is it the same leg where you have the rubbed spot on the front of your ankle? Was thinking that, perhaps, in favouring that foot you've put a bit of strain on the soft tissue around that joint area.

Had a bit of heel pain after using mine but not used them for my last few trips. The heel pocket is very narrow.
