Hi everyone!
Quick question - I've just found a great deal to Belle Plagne - what's it like?
We're 4 guys circa 30 - not looking for a massive party town but at the same time we're self catering so a few bars and restaurants wouldn't go a miss.
Also, is there anyway of getting from Belle Plagne to Plagne Centre at night time? If so, what mode of transport and how long does it take?
Lastly, if we can't get to Plagne Centre in the evening what does Belle Plagne actually have? Bowling? Skating? Cinema's etc.
Thanks,
NB

Went there in 2006 with the family. Good skiing but I think 4 guys around 30 could find a lot better places to go to. There was bowling from memory but very expensive.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

NomadicBoo, well it isn't a party town, but there are several bars that have live music nights. I was there last year and had a great time. No bowling/skating/cinemas. Some reasonable restaurants.
The bubble that passes through Belle Plagne runs until late (poss midnightish), so you can easily access Bellecote and from there buses to PC are probably the option (or taxis, of course).
With a smallish group, I'm sure it'll be fun enough in the bars that are there.
Funnily enough I was also there in 2006.....stag do on that occasion

Thanks all.
The deal we have found (last minute for this Saturday) is ridiculously cheap at £250 for Monarch Flights, Transfers from Grenoble and an apartment.
I'm sure they're are better places (we've been to a few!) but at that price provided there's a few restauarants and bars and a way down to Plagne Centre we'll be happy.

Thanks Chasseur.
Does anyone know if you can get a taxi between Plagne Centre and Belle Plagne at night? If so, how much?
Thanks!

Hey everyone.
It actually appears that the accomodation is in Plagne Soliel! We booked it anyway as it was so cheap.
Quick question....are there taxis from Plagne centre to Plagne Soliel? Would we be able to walk from centre to Soliel?
Thanks,
NB

You can easily walk from Plagne Centre to Plagne Soleil and the free bus runs until about midnight.
Going down the telecabin gondala runs from Plagne Village (just across the piste) to Plagne Centre until 20:30, or there is the free bus or simply walk down.
If your walking look to short cut across the piste which the hotel I think its called "La France" crosses, and from there you can get into the corridors which make up Plagne Centre, and it knocks about 5 mins of the walk time.

NomadicBoo, The La France is a big UPCA place, you can ski under it during the day. We were there 2 weeks ago, with 8yr old son so stayed in hotel, but did talk to some other residents who went to the Iceberg pub for happy hour, they seemed to rate it, think its in the centre. There are good maps of all the food and retail outlets for each village that you can pick up in the T/O to help you find them.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

You'll have a great time in LP. Plagne Centre isn't exactly rocking, but take a wander up to Scotty's Bar under the Hotel Christina (bottom of the Stade piste) and there's usually a live band in there. Plus there's a decent seasonaire's bar round the corner.
The skiing is great!

NormandicaBoo
With a skin full assuming you can still walk 20 minutes, its about 1 - 1.5kms depending where about in Soleil you are staying.
