...and there are some balls you should not try to chase. Or your racquet may get tangled between your feet, causing a tumble and an ankle sprain + hairline fracture.
Now in a cast...next week's skiing with snowball and friends is gone...having strong hopes for a March trip.

Arno, I knew, I was checking the forecasts until Sunday afternoon, preparing for great snow! Before I found out about the fracture, I was still hoping that the sprain would go away in a few days...
As for being creaky - HA! I'll come back stronger, just like after the ACL op.
Markymark29, thanks and enjoy the snow! Say hello to the guys from me.

Do not do any other form of potentially injurous activity during the ski season obviously - Rule 1. This extends to DIY as well as contact sports (clearly Tennis is a contact sport the way you play it)
Is there a correlation between you buying new skis and getting hurt?

horizon having the coordination of a drunk gibbon is the only correlation he has with any sport

Oh well. Went to one of the two top radiologists at the hospital and had an MRI scan, too. He says no fracture after all - but a ligament rupture which will take six weeks to heal reasonably well. He did say that I could probably ski next week at the cost of a very high probability of tearing it completely, which would mess up the rest of the ski season and the summer tennis season, so I'll take a pass.
At least I know why it doesn't hurt.
Now waiting for mid-March. Thanks for the wishes everyone.

yay, the second cast (the one that fit within a shoe) is off! Cleared to ski on 16 March...so I already wonder whether to push it for the weekend before. Hmmm...
no tennis until April but that's fine, don't want to risk losing another ski week.

Is one week earlier worth a possible re-injury and being out for the rest of the season?

Hey, I thought you'd say "come over to Cham!"
You're being sensible, but in my defence the doctor seemed very ok with skiing, not paying a lot of attention to the date. I'll probably stick to 16 March anyway.

I want to ski with you when (not if) you come to Cham, rather than watch you take a ride in the blood wagon
