Although a faintly ridiculous post from me, anyone have any tip tricks, roadworks, weather warnings etc that may of use?

Good news, arrived in good shape after the stop over in Paris to pick up relatives.
The weather conditions here in Verbier today have been near perfect, blue skies and great snow - just a tad cold to be deemed 100% perfect...
The drive was OK given the sub-optimal timings of the trip (rush hour M25 & then a train delay on Eurotunnel), heavy traffic the following day exiting Paris around midday and then entering Switzerland.
But overall 5 hours to Paris from London and just over 7 hours from Paris to Verbier.
Had I travelled at my more usual 'middle of the night' hours I would have improved those times by up to an hour on each leg.
Anyway, the hero's stint is yet to come; Verbier to London setting off at 3pm on Tuesday...
This thread is still faintly ridiculous...

Hehe, depends what car you're driving and whether you derive any value from driving it!
Had I got 2.5 days of bluebird day skiing in then yes it was well worth it, however the weather has closed in so I may actually leave today which means the journey wasn't one of my best decisions in life!

Looking at the conditions in Verbier this weekend it would have been worth walking there!
