Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Calais to Alps...tolls

Very strange, but viamichelin is suggesting around €25 euros for tolls on the way, but most direct via motorways. However, on way back suggesting €55! Weird.

Route is via Rheims, Troyes, Dijon etc.

Anyone been recently and can confirm what the actual charges were.?

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

A top tip that a neighbour who has a holiday home in France told me about.
If you have an especially tall car ie a people carrier/range rover with a top box on it.
Make sure you go to pay at a booth with a real person serving you,the automatic ones have a sensor on them
that sometimes mistakes your top box as being part of your vehicle, therefore thinking its much bigger
than it really is so it charges you as a class 2 motor home or panel van, both of which are 50% more than a regular car.
