alexcrag89, how about a UCPA centre - look at the Action Outdoors website. Plenty of really good deals, excellent tuition, ready made groups, plenty of folk to have a beer with.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Are they good? And what are the age range of people you end up with? I had a look and thought they sounded good but also thought Id come on here as well. Thanks

alexcrag89, they are very good - plenty of reports on here, all positive. Ages? Not sure. when my son in law went on his own a few times he was about 35 - a fairly shy person, but found the centres very sociable because of shared interests (he did one ski trip, one summer activities - ice climbing etc)
Somebody who did an off piste week in Chamonix reported that the top groups were extremely good - most Scandinavian mountain men.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I checked it out but its expensive and doesn't include flights. Maybe someone on here is also a teacher and needs someone to go with them! just restricting thats all

alexcrag89, I don't think you're likely to find anything cheaper given that everything is included, lift pass, full board, etc. You might do cheaper if you do a last minute self-catering deal and don't eat out. If you go to flaine you can get coach travel, but that's maybe a bit late in the season to be sure of good snow at Flaine, if you have a choice of somewhere like tignes.

Hi Alex,
We are looking for people to join our small group, going around the 6/7th of April and returning a week after. The group is of beginners/intermediates so you might have to do your own thing on the slopes but hey thought I would let you know.

alexcrag89, I have tried and tried to find anything cheaper that UCPAs for skiing on my own. I believe they offer the best value available - particularly when you consider off-piste guiding or lessons. They are non-profit making.
They are extremely sociable. Loads of the people travel there on their own. You will meet loads of like minded people. I have stayed in plenty of the centres.
I did two weeks in UCPAs last year (at Easter.) I skied in Les Arcs for a week then moved to Val D'Isere. If you travel to Bourg St Maurice/Aime you have easy access to Les Arcs, La Plagne, Tignes, Val D'Isere.
You could also consider youth hostels in Europe or Canada. Next to UCPAs these work out probably the cheapest.
I hope this helps.

I'm going out to Alpe D'Huez on 6th April. Booked ensuite room for single occupancy at Belle Aurore with Skibound Holidays half board. Had to arrange own flights and transfer but total price was about £450. Travelled with same company at Xmas to a different hotel in Alpe D'Huez and had a fab time. Skibound specialise in ski holidays for school parties so you would have plenty of teachers to talk to.
