Just seen an article in the Yorkshire Post stating that Inghams will be running a flight to Innsbruck from Leeds Bradford airport for next season. Good news for us West Yorkshire types!

I hope its more robust a proposal than the Monarch Grenoble fiasco this year.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

chocksaway, I would have thought so as it's a charter for holidays they will sell - I can see me looking at the Inghams offers quite closely!

I'll keep an eye too, Inghams have stopped using Newcastle flights for Austria.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

According to another site it is Austrian Airlines so I wonder if its a reverse charter (ie the first leg is Insbruck-Leeds) in which case it might be an early start for the transfer bus!

That was the way it used to be (and maybe still is) for Crystal on the Bristol-Innsbruck route. They used Lauda Air, which AIUI is the charter arm of Austrian.

Inghams currently use Lauda Air / Austrian for their Bristol-Innsbruck flights. It is an early return pick-up (IIRC around 03:45, from Ski Welt area) but the planes have decent leg ryoom and the in-flight food and drink is also descent and free

Yes, otherwise it would have been 15:45.

Think positively, surely the airport must be quieter than at 11am when everyone else arrives trying to get home....

jocrad, I've certainly no complaints about the early return flight, although the main resturant at Innsbruck wasn't open which may have displeased others. There were quite a few early flights leaving so the airport was busier than you might expect.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

jtr, ugh that is an awful transfer time. Don't mind on the way out so you feel like you're getting a day of 'holiday' when you arrive but on the way home whay else is there to do but chuck on a wash load?

And skiing washing is always far more than any other holiday washing what with all the multiple layers every day!!

You know it makes sense.

jocrad, I managed to get my last snowboard trip into one wash the other week, was very surprised.

We have a early flight back with Austrian in March
If you are not on a late flight that lets you ski am you are as well getting home quickly
Like the planes inside space
Downside is they usually have a 18 kilo weight limit for your hold luggage not a disaster but a bit restricting
